Inicio > Talking about Time with Clause Chai...

What grammatical means are available to language for talking about time? I examine clause chaining in Northern Paiute, a little-studied construction common to indigenous languages of the Americas that temporally relates clauses. Clause chaining is often thought to instantiate a grammatical category distinct from more familiar expressions like temporal connectives, because it uses verbal morphology to convey either a relation of temporal simultaneity or succession between adjacent clauses.
